KNOW YOUR AUTHORITY

By Angela Miles

As a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ, you must know and live in your God-given power and authority. You must also know where that power and authority comes from which is from God and not yourself. That power and authority does not come from self but is delegated from Jesus to His disciples.  Luke 10:18-20 (ASV) says: “18 And he [Jesus] said unto them [His disciples], I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I have given you [His disciples] authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. 20 Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” See, you have the authority to speak to every situation in your life, in the life of others, in our nation and in this world. The key is knowing how to use the Word of God, found in the bible, for all situations. If you want to know your authority, begin to study His Word. Life without understanding of your God-given authority can leave you living a life of fear. Look around the world and your will see a lot of calamities and fear but know that fear is not of God.  2 Timothy 1:7 says: “For God gave us not spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline” (ASV). If you are a disciple of Jesus, begin to practice thinking, speaking, and living in the authority given to you by Jesus Christ. The world is depending on the current day disciples of Jesus to stand in authority declaring what thus says the Lord. Know your authority. Let those that have an ear, hear.

I’m just sayin'…
