DON'T FORGET TO LISTEN

One of the most important weapons a Disciple of Jesus has is prayer. It is in prayer that that praises can be sent up to God and where requests are made known to God. Prayer is speaking directly to God from the heart with faith, and with the assurance that He hears us. Unfortunately, when we pray there is a tendency to do all the talking and not enough listening. We send up prayers and leave them hanging in the atmosphere and forget about them. We forget that God speaks to us as well. He may give direction, correction, or instructions, but we must expect and actively listen for His response. Can you imagine having a conversation with someone without their responding to anything you are saying? That would not be a conversation, that would just be you talking. Learn to always listen for God’s voice. Ask Him to speak to you clearly and He will. If you desire to hear from God, He will make His voice clear to you. In John 10:27 it says that God’s sheep know his voice. If you desire to hear from God, He will make His voice clear to you. Remember, prayer is not just constant talking, it is also constant listening. Do not forget to listen!
